What type of monk do you have, and what size of cage are you looking for? I know where you can get sturdy, durable cages built. You can e-mail for more info

Hi. It's good that you are getting everything set up BEFORE you get the monkey! :) Monkeys need a LOT of room to run & play. My Java's are about the size of a capuchin right now, although they are still youngsters. But for them, each has a bedroom inside that was converted to a monk room by tiling the floors & walls (ALL monkeys can chew through sheetrock walls) so you'll want tile of some type. The walk in closets were converted to tree houses. They have several little tikes plastic playhouses & climbing structures. A variety of PVC swings hanging from the ceiling (The swings are attached through the ceiling & into studs in the attic) otherwise they have the strength to pull the swings down. (so don't just screw them into a regular ceiling stud, go in the attic & drill thru a stud, that way you can put a nut on the big bolt that goes thru the stud, & they can't pull the swings down) you will want to be able to view your monk if he's in there alone, we put a 5 foot window in the room that looks into our livingroom, that way we can see in at all times & also the monks like to watch big screen TV. We built a ledge beneath the window. Anyway we also installed heavy bars on the windows, & replaced the windows themselves with tempered glass (car windshield material) so if they ever get accidentally broken, the monkeys won't escape because of the bars, & won't get cut from the glass. We had a light protector built that protects them from tearing the light fixture out of the ceiling, also a protector for the heat source. Then the outdoor enclosure is made from a corn crib. It is 17 foot tall & 16 foot in diamenter (its round) that is small but big enough for one or 2 small monkeys. Anyway, these are just some more ideas for you. We also make sure to provide lots of puzzle feeders, kong toys stuffed with fruit bits, etc. & rotate toys every 2 weeks. This keeps them busy!!
