Can someone help me settle a debate? Can monkeys swim? All species of monkeys, some, or none at all?

i know for a fact that orang utans cannot swim. A couple of years ago i was at toronto zoo and some fool was throwing cookies into the enclosure and a orang fell into the moat and drowned. So not all primates can swim.

i have a java monk and he swims very well. he dives into our pool and goes underwater. it is really cool.

Yes but only on alternate tuesdays but not when the moon is full because then they get rolling drunk and dance the macarerna in a full tuxeda.

They can't swim when you tie a rope around their little necks and then attach it to a couple of cinder blocks and deposit them in water at least 10 feet deep.

I know the Macaques are very good swimmers! They can hold their breath for a long time and open their eyes in the ocean under the water. My monks have a 2 foot pool and spend most ofthe day diving from aobut 10 feet into the shallow pool. It is fun to watch them play!
